Following the debut of Mercedes-AMG GT R at the Goodwood Festival, we anticipated that the new Aston Martin hypercar will also be revealed at the event. However, it seems the British automaker has some other plans.
The Aston Martin hypercar, built in collaboration with the Red Bull racing team, will be officially revealed to a specific audience on July 5th at the automaker’s headquarters in Gaydon, in Central England. The hypercar has already been shown to some special clients at the Monaco Grand Prix a few weeks back, but no information was made public.
We don’t know much regarding the hypercar except that it is codenamed AM-RB 001 and will carry a hybrid powertrain. The expected price tag is going to be around £2.5 million and only 100 units will be built globally.
Talking about the exterior styling, Aston Martin’s chief designer Marek Reichman stated that, during the secret revealing ceremony, the customers were totally awed by looking at the Aston Martin hypercar and found the exterior design absolutely striking. The only technical detail he revealed was that the hypercar would weigh a little more than the 2000-pound LMP1 race car.
More information will be revealed after 5th July.
