In an effort to curb accidents and streamline traffic situation in Saudi Arabia, the Interior Ministry has passed a new traffic law under which throwing cigarettes from car can cost SR100 to the motorists. Not only this, but the pedestrians using wrong way to cross road will also be penalized and has to pay SR100.
The new law has been announced on Monday and Saudi Police are now authorized to issue fine on the spot, according to the traffic police chief Major General Abdullah Al Zahrani.
The SR100 fine is also applicable on other wrongdoings such as hanging obscene stickers on walls, using unlawful systems in community and parking cars in the wrong area close to public facilities.
Hopefully, this law will help Saudi Police manage the traffic issues in a better way.
