The 2017 Audi SQ2, a sporty version of the compact Audi Q2 crossover range, has been spied making the rounds on the infamous Nurburgring track.
The Audi Q2 (not available in the US market) made its debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Its sporty sibling is expected to be released by the end of next year given the additions already planned to the Q2 lineup. The 1.0 and 1.4 litre petrol or 1.6 litre diesel Q2s will be released in the UK by the end of this year and a 2.0 litre petrol by next year.
The spy shots of the 2017 Audi SQ2 show quad exhausts, wider body kit and big alloy wheels. The grille, vents and C-pillar feature gloss black detailing implying a faster model.
The 2017 Audi SQ2 is expected to have the turbocharged 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engine seen in the latest S3. While the power ouput of the S3 is 310 hp, the SQ2 will probably have a lower output in line with the rest of the Q2 range. The most powerful Q2 has an output of 187 hp.
