Talking to Motoring.au, Kia Australia’s COO, Damien Meredith, stated that the company will release the codenamed CK sports sedan during the third quarter of 2017. The price will start at AUD $40,000 (USD $29,830). This rear-wheel drive sports sedan will be called KIA Stinger.

The South Korean automaker first revealed a rear-wheel drive sports car concept in 2011 known as GT Concept. Recently, the prototype was spotted at the back of a truck which confirmed that the automaker is indeed developing the sports sedan but according to Motoring.au, this rwd sports sedan will be named Kia Stinger.

The KIA Stinger is expected to carry a twin-turbocharged 3.3-litre V-6 engine, which is also found in Genesis sedans. This powertrain will be capable of delivering 365 horsepower and 509 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque. An entry-level engine option is also presumed to arrive sometime later.
