Reportedly, Jaguar plans to launch a new full-size SUV which will slot above the current F-Pace model. Codenamed, the Jaguar J-Pace, the full-size SUV has been caught camouflaged, while being transported on a trailer. Experts suggest that it may have an electric diesel powertrain.
Although, the prototype appears to be a disguised F-Pace but on closer inspection we see that it features an extended wheelbase. Other updates include a redesigned fascia with a new grille and reworked bumper.
The most noticeable element seen on the Jaguar J-Pace prototype is the license plate which is registered to a vehicle carrying an electric diesel engine. This suggests that the J-Pace SUV might also feature a diesel-hybrid unit; most probably a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
The Jaguar J-Pace is expected to hit the dealerships sometime in 2019 as a 2020 model. Considering its size, the J-Pace will compete against the likes of Audi Q7.
