The new Mercedes all-electric SUV concept is expected to make its debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. It will compete head to head with the future Tesla Model X and all other all-electric SUVs built by Audi and Jaguar.

A report from Autocar suggests that the Mercedes all-electric SUV is currently under development at the company’s prototype workshop outside Stuttgart, Germany. The report further tells that the Mercedes all-electric SUV concept will closely resemble the production model. It will give detailed information regarding the powertrain, exterior design and interior features.

An unnamed source from Mercedes tells that the automaker’s all-electric SUV will extend a unique design philosophy. And it will give a hint of the future of Mercedes electric vehicles.

The debut is scheduled to take place at the 2016 Paris Motor Show in October. While SUV is planned to be introduced in 2019.
