At the Code Conference last week, the CEO of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk talked about his company and their future plans. He was asked in an interview, should we expect Apple self-driving car hitting the market anytime soon and Musk answered in positive.
Elon Musk considers Apple as a competitor in the autonomous vehicle segment. He further added that the Apple self-driving car will probably not arrive before 2020 and since Tesla plans to launch their autonomous car by 2020, the automaker won’t face any issue. Apple, on the other hand, has not yet confirmed if they have plans to build a self-driving car.
When asked about Google, Elon Musk stated that it is not a car company; however Google has showed great potential in the autonomous vehicle technology.
