The guys from Consumer Reports have recently test-drove the 2016 Toyota Prius and found it the ‘most-fuel efficient hybrid car’ ever. During their test drive, the 2016 Toyota Prius managed to achieve an overall 52 mpg (22 km/L) fuel economy rating.

To get accurate results, Consumer Reports installed a new fuel gauge on every car and test-drove them on the same route. In the city, the Prius returned a fuel economy of 43 mpg (18.28 km/L), while on the highway it achieved a 59 mpg (25.08 km/L). Consumer Reports further stated that the Prius fuel economy rating on highway driving conditions is better than any diesel engine car they have tested. Compared to the previous model, the 2016 Prius comes with a 13 mpg better fuel economy.

Apart from the fuel efficiency, Consumer Reports also found the 2016 Toyota Prius more comfortable to drive and handle. Strong crash test results and spacious interior make it an ideal family car.
