Hyundai has some really good news for its customers who currently own the latest 2015, 2016, and 2017 Hyundai models. Customers can enjoy Hyundai DIY Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration on their cars at absolutely no cost. The best part is that they can perform the upgrade themselves and do not have to visit a dealer. However, if someone is not comfortable doing it, they can visit the dealership. A technician there will do Hyundai DIY update for free.

The infotainment systems installed on the existing models of Hyundai Sonata, Santa Fe, Genesis, Elantra GT, and Tucson can be easily upgraded. However, the automaker is yet to announce its update plans for 2016 Sonata Hybrid, Sonata Plug-In Hybrid, Veloster, and Azera.

Hyundai is not the first automaker to introduce do-it-yourself upgrades for its vehicles. Ford has also been offering its customers the option of upgrading their Sync and MyFord infotainment systems themselves for free since past few years.

The software will be available for download at Hyundai website starting June and the estimated installation time would be around 3 hours, 40 minutes.
