The 2016 BMW X1 has been awarded with the Top Safety Pick+ recognition from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The automaker would be happy this time, the previous generation BMW X1 couldn’t win the top safety pick + award due to ‘marginal’ rating in the small over – lap test.
BMW redesigned and enhanced the front structure of the 2016 X1, which allowed it to earn a ‘good’ rating in the small-overlap test. The optional front crash prevention system enabled the X1 to secure an overall ‘advanced’ rating.
The IIHS official statement further stated that the 2016 BMW X1 scored ‘good’ rating in moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests.
The 2016 BMW X1 carries a 2.0L turbo-charged 4 cylinder engine and is equipped with the latest safety features including lane departure warning, traffic jam assist, collision warning, pedestrian warning and more. It is available at dealerships across UAE at a starting price of AED 160,000.
