The 2017 Buick Verano was revealed last year at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show and was scheduled to arrive in the US markets in 2016. However, now the automaker has changed its plans and stated that the 2017 Buick Verano will only be sold in the Chinese markets and won’t arrive in the US.

The American automaker stated that in the US the demand for SUVs is increasing immensely and less people are now going towards buying a family sedan. In 2015, the Buick Encore and Enclave crossovers were a huge success and topped the automakers sales charts. Now with the arrival of the Buick Envision, the sales graph will rise even further.

The first generation Buick Verano was introduced in 2012 and went on sale in the US. It will continue to be sold next year after which the automaker will discontinue it.
