The Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S has recently set a new Nürburgring lap record, with a time of 7:49:21. It is the VW’s ‘most powerful GTI ever’ built. It was revealed to the public during the 35th GTI Meet at Lake Wörthersee to celebrate the Golf GTI’s 40th anniversary on 4th May.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S features some impressive enhancements. It weighs 63 kg less than the standard Clubsport S, making it more efficient aerodynamically. It carries the same 2.0L turbocharged engine, however the horsepower has been upgraded to 306 bhp. The Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S will be available in the same color options as the original GTI including Tornado red, Pure white and Deep Black Pearl Effect.Tornado red, Pure white and Deep Black Pearl.
Other vehicles which were displayed at Lake Wörthersee include a Golf GTI TCR race car, two modified GTIs and all previous generation Golf models.
