A French car-sharing tech company, Vulog has shown interest in introducing car-sharing service in Dubai. Georges Gallais, of Vulog Carsharing Technologies talked about their plans during the MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition. According to these plans, about 2000 vehicles would be required in the start to make the car-sharing service successful.
The car-sharing service lets users to book the nearest possible vehicle via a smart app. Computer-generated security code is used for getting inside the car. The car sharing technology charges customers per minute, hours or day, which ensures that they return it to the required location when done with it. The cars are equipped with anti-theft and anti- car tracking features.
The customers are required to submit security deposit as per service rules and failing to comply with them can blacklist a user.
Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority has also shown interest, and would be happy to introduce mobility and transport options that are adept with the rest of the world. The car-sharing service would make transportation convenient by saving time and effort otherwise spent finding a suitable public transportation.
