We are all aware that Tesla introduced Model 3 sedan recently and got around 400,000 pre-orders. Surely, the sedan is super-impressive in terms of looks, interior features and performance, but does it boast ample cargo space to carry luggage of an average family? Perhaps not and that’s why Tesla may bring Model 3 hatchback in future. To give you a heads-up, how it would look like, Topspeed has presented us a rendering.

So, how much cargo one can carry on a Model 3 hatchback? Expect it to be around 17 cubic feet to fit more than surfboard and carry 5 passengers easily.

Autopilot would of course be the part and parcel of the Model 3 hatchback along with the drivetrain borrowed from its sedan sibling. Though Tesla did not reveal the complete power specs but courtesy to the limited info we have, the rear wheel drive would have a 40-kWh battery and a single electric motor to render 215 miles range. The mid level and range topping models should carry 60-kWh and 70-kWh dual-drive units to extend more power and speed channeled through an all-wheel drive system.

As far as the price of Tesla Model 3 hatchback is concerned, expect it fairly equal to its counterpart i.e. $35,000 without tax rebate.
