Dubai fire extinguishing department gets its own taste of 2016 Corvette Stingray and is eyeing a place in the Guinness World Book as the fastest fire truck in the world.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Hussain Al Rahoomi, Head of Station Affairs at Dubai Civil Defence, the automobile has been adjusted by technicians to reach 340 km/h incredible speed.
The car boasts advanced monitoring devices and smart features in addition to the expected fire extinguishers and first aid kits. Col Al Rahoomi further shared that the Guinness World Records’ administration verified registration of no other fire truck similar to the specifications of 2016 Corvette Stingray, making it the world’s fastest fire fighting vehicle.
The Civil Defence at present possesses 2 cars, but plans to add 2 more vehicles to its fire department by the end of this year. Each vehicle costs around half a million dirham exclusive of fire extinguisher and other relevant equipment cost. The supercars will be positioned across the city’s fastest highways including the likes of Dubai-Al-Ain Road and Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed Road.
The fastest fire truck had already been used in several emergency situations in the past to reach disaster sites faster compared to the conventional fire trucks.
