Seven electric charging stations have been installed at the petrol pumps by Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) as a part of global green economy on Sunday. The charging stations set up across all the Enoc/Eppco stations will make charging of electric cars convenient for the motorists, while promoting a sustainable environment in the city.
The seven electric charging stations were fitted and commissioned across Enoc/Eppoc petrol pumps in collaboration with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) in February, while two more units are due to be installed at new sites, currently under construction.
Saeed Mohammed Al-Tayer and Saif Humaid Al Falasi, vice chairman and CEO of Enoc group have thanked and appreciated the efforts of Dewa and Government of Dubai in making the installation of electric stations a successful venture in addition to promising a sustainable environment through the promotion of electric cars in the city.
The first charging station was inaugurated by Dewa in February, 2015 at its headquarters, as part of electric charging stations program envisioned by UAE’s Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to make Dubai, the smartest city in the world.
Enoc is a strong member of green environment and also owns the Dubai’s first ever ‘green service station.
