Toyota in collaboration with Microsoft has launched a new company, Toyota Connected, Inc., which will strengthen the company’s proficiency in data management and data services development.
Toyota Connected will make use of Microsoft Azure cloud technology to develop its data-based application and services. The press release states that the services offered will be “predictive, contextual, and intuitive.”
According to the CEO of ToyotaConnected and CIO at Toyota Motor North America, Zack Hicks, Toyota Connected will focus on everything which will make our everyday life easier. This includes in-car services and telematics, personalisation, safety, smart city integration, connected home, IoT, and much more.
The company will be based in Plano, Texas, and employees from both Toyota and Microsoft would be working together on the new project.
Besides Toyota, other automakers including Volvo, Nissan, Harman, and IAV are also working together with Microsoft to innovate new technology which will be soon implemented in the upcoming cars.
