Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributor of Toyota in the UAE, has announced that the redesigned Toyota Land Cruiser, winner of Wheels’ “SUV of the Year” and EVO ME’s “4×4 of the Year” awards, has seen double digit growth since its launch last October, with sales increasing by an impressive 19% compared to the same period last year.
Much of the growth can be attributed to the 13 exterior changes, a new interior layout dubbed ‘Life Control Layout’, a class-first 8-speed automatic transmission, Toyota’s flagship Safety Sense P, and advanced tech features, cementing the new Land Cruiser’s position as the UAE’s leading SUV in its class.
“It’s no surprise that the new 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser has been welcomed so warmly by drivers in the UAE, whether they are existing customers looking to upgrade or new customers joining the Toyota family, the new 2016 Land Cruiser brings with it many category-firsts that make it the undisputed leader in its class,” said Saud Abbasi, Managing Director of Toyota at Al-Futtaim Motors
The 2016 Land Cruiser stands apart thanks to its new imposing stance and unique profile, while still being functional for urban driving as well as off-road terrains. Coupled with optional 20-inch machine finished alloys, the exterior of the new Land Cruiser exude a tougher, more confident look thanks to the re-designed hood and grille, while the rear of the vehicle expresses a more stable stance with redesigned tailgate and lights, just a few of the exterior changes.
The intuitive and functional interior remains as spacious as ever, finished with genuine leather upholstery and metal texture ornaments to exude a premium look and feel. The legendary all-terrain Land Cruiser performance is made even better with a class-first 8-speed automatic transmission adds quietness and smoothness.
“Toyota has listened to its customers and provided them with a vehicle that matches all their needs, no matter where they are. What’s also impressive is that this growth has crossed over to the Land Cruiser Pick-Up, which has seen a staggering 42.2% growth for the same period last year, by all means a magnificent feat,” explained Abbasi.
The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser is available in three different engine choices to fit customers’ needs, including the 4.0L V6, 4.6L V8, and 5.7L V8, the last of which is mated to the first-in-class 8-speed automatic transmission. Grades available include EXR, GXR and VXR.
