Renowned brand, Dunlop hosted a set of events in Dubai to launch its brand new tyre; the SP SPORT MAXX 050+. Held at the Dubai Autodrome on the 13th of March, the event was divided into two similar sessions; one held in the morning and the other in the afternoon that allowed attendees to discover the features of the tyre through a series of test drives involving dry handling, wet braking and more. The event also included a Q&A session with Dunlop representatives from Sumitomo Rubber Middle East FZE, Managing Director Mr. Takeshi Adachi, Senior General Manager Mr. Toshifumi Yuze and General Manager, Mr. Masatada Hachiya.

It’s an ultrahigh performance tyre boasting of an asymmetric pattern designed for both wet and dry conditions and offering superior riding comfort. The Maxx 050+ possesses the following features:
- High grip shoulder blocks for optimum road contact, providing high braking force and maximum cornering grip
- Maximum riding control with high speed straight line stability. Reactive to any steering input for sporty handling and maneuvering.
- Dry Handling improved by 5%, Dry Braking by 3%, Lateral Hydroplaning by 4% & Wet Braking by 7% compared to MAXX TT.
- To achieve high speed driving performance, high rigidity new tyre construction using more than two nylon reinforced layer is adopted to minimize tread profile expansion
- Efficient water drainage through natural water flow direction. Optimized groove distribution for a more balanced contact pressure. Resistance to hydroplaning with maximum stability and control in the wet.
- Optimized silica content using 4D Nano-design. Improve adhesion to road surface by high silica compound thereby improving wet performance.
Arriving in a big lineup of 63 sizes ranging from 16 inch to 22 inch rim size, the target cars for this tyre include various models of BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Aston Martin, Maserati and Lexus. Target CUVs include various models of BMW, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Infiniti, Land Rover and Volvo among others.
