The German automaker Bayerische Motoren Werke completed their 100 years on 7th march 2016 and to celebrate it, they introduced the BMW Vision Next 100 concept at an event held in Munich, Germany.
So what is this concept capable of? The automaker has not revealed a lot of details, but we know the fact that it will be an autonomous and shape shifting car with two specific modes; Ease and Boost. The ‘Ease mode’ sets the car in automatic driving position and pushes the steering wheel inside, so you can enjoy the ride. While the ‘Boost mode’ takes things to the next level by using augmented-reality and displaying ideal steering line, speed and other info on the windscreen. The augmented reality also ensures maximum safety by informing driver of any upcoming hazard in advance.
The body structure of the BMW Vision Next 100 concept uses a unique technology called as Alive Geometry. This allows the car to change its shape for better aerodynamics; for example, the wheels are incorporated inside the bodywork and the body structure stretches as the car turns.
The Vision Next 100 is one of the four concepts which the automaker will reveal in this year for each of its sub brands including Mini, Rolls, and motorcycles.
