The new purist Porsche 911 R has made its public debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and will hit the market later this year with a starting price of $185,950 including destination.
This amazing two seater Porsche 911 R carries a potent 4.0-litre flat-six engine mated to six-speed manual transmission that churns out 500 horsepower and 338 pound-feet of torque. This is the same powertrain featured in the 911 GT3 RS, but the Purist Porsche 911 R produces extra 13hp and is better in terms of performance.
The body features aluminium and carbon fibre trim at various places which keeps the weight low at 3,021 pounds. The roof is made of magnesium to keep the centre of gravity low, thereby improving the handling at high speed and edges.
Since the Porsche 911 R is built solely for speed enthusiasts, it comes without an air conditioning system or a fancy entertainment system. It can go from standstill to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 200 mph.
