The 4th Generation Kia Sportage has just hit UK showrooms wearing an initial price tag of £17,995. The SUV is equipped with the latest high-tech gadgets and attractive interior and exterior features to promise not only a high number of sales for the company, but also a convenient, improved and comfortable ride for its passengers. The Kia Sportage has been a driving force behind the company’s sales with 3rd Generation Sportage recording more than 1.6 million sales between 2010 and 2015.
Premiered at the Frankfurt Motor show last year, customers can also opt for GT Line specification for the first time to add a visual and dynamic appeal for sportier driving experience.
The 4th generation Sportage has been styled by Kia’s European design studio in Frankfurt, Germany, with contribution from the brand’s Namyang, Korea and Irvine, California design centers. The base trim has headlights positioned higher with lower and wider grille compared to the previous model.
The sporty SUV didn’t only get cosmetic changes customers will enjoy improved engine options too. The existing engines have been tweaked for better performance and enhanced fuel efficiency. The gasoline engine choices include 2.0-litre ‘Nu’ MPI (multi-point injection) and 2.4-liter ‘Theta II’ GDI (gasoline direct injection) engines, while the Kia’s 2.0-liter ‘R’ turbodiesel engine has also been upgraded. Customers will get a choice of six-speed manual and automatic transmissions and either front- or all-wheel drive, depending on the model.
The SUV’s interior boasts an updated cabin trimmed in rich material quality leather, with an array of infotainment systems for different trims. Other interior facilities include a wireless phone charging system, reverse driving system, emergency braking, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, car navigation system and a USB Port for charging smartphones and music players. The advanced trims include an audio Harman Kardon stereo system.
