The Swedish magazine Tekniskens Varld has released photos of the Volvo V90 which is the latest in the Volvo’s 90-series line-up. The Volvo V90 is receiving much media attention despite the fact that the Volvo S90 will be debuting first in Detroit later this month.

The Volvo V90 will be replacing the Volvo V70, which remained in production for 20 years and has been doing very good in Sweden. The V90 features slim taillights reminiscent of the V60 and XC60, sloped tailgate which has led to some concern about the boot space. However, this is offset by the longer length (V90 is about 15 cm longer than the V70). A longer wheelbase also promises an improvement in the interior space.

The Volvo V90 will make its first public appearance at the Geneva Motor show in March. The company plans to offer four variants: D4 and D5 diesel engines with an output of 190 and 235 hp, and T6 and T8 petrol engines with 320 and 407 hp respectively. The T8 will be a hybrid variant.
