The Roads and Transport authority has opened Transport Museum in Dubai showcasing the evolution and the development of transportation in Dubai. The Transport Museum was inaugurated by Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, who expressed his happiness and appreciated the efforts of those involved in creating the museum.
The Transport Museum is divided into different sections where each of them shares something unique regarding the history of the transportation. The gallery areas have interactive screens showing how the mode of transportation evolved from camels to the modern automobiles.
One section has old number plates, driving licenses, old marine transit modes and some large vehicles used previously. A model of the first four wheel drive vehicle introduced in the UAE is also present there. Another section shows visits of royal Kings and Princes at the RTA’s offices. Visitors can also find out about development projects planned for Dubai in the future.
The RTA’s Transport Museum is currently open for official delegations such as college and university students.
