Due to its popularity and reliability, the Nissan Juke has been awarded as the best compact utility vehicle by the Middle East Car of the Year Awards (MECOTY), in a ceremony held in Dubai. The winner for the MECOTY award is chosen by a jury of 12 automotive experts in the UAE, through a comprehensive 3 stage voting procedure.
There is no doubt that considering the tremendous success of the Nissan Juke in the Middle East, the award could be won by any other SUV. In the UAE, the Juke enjoys an 11 percent market share, which is a 3 percent increase from the last year, and it was even the bestselling vehicle in the compact SUV segment.
Samir Cherfan, who is the managing director of Nissan Middle East, stated that the Nissan Juke is preferred by masses due to its compact size, spaciousness, comfortable drive and bold persona. He also mentioned that it is an honour to win at MECOTY and the Juke deserved this award.
