Audi certainly knows how to celebrate a victory, and that is why they have unleashed a gold wrapped Audi R8. The automaker recently received the Golden Steering Wheel award from the German Magazine, Auto Bild for being the most impressive vehicle of the year. The winner was decided by a jury of different professionals including designers, racers and readers.
The shiny gold wrapped Audi R8 is currently on display at the automaker’s forum in Neckarsulm, Germany. Other than sporting a very attractive royal shade, it is equipped with a 5.2-litre V10 engine that generates over 600 horsepower and could sprint from 0 – 60 in just 3.2 seconds.
In the past too, we have seen other automakers revealing their luxury rides in gold chrome paint. Mercedes presented a whole fleet of different gold painted models at the Cannes Film Festival. The DeLorean Motor Company also built around 100 gold plated DMC-12s for its special customers earlier this year.
