The 2016 Nissan Titan and Titan XD are getting a new 5.6L V8 gasoline engine, dubbed as the Endurance V8, accompanied by the 5.0L Cummins turbo-diesel V8 engine.
The Endurance V8 with DIG™ direct injection technology will churn out 390 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque, which is a big improvement from the previous unit. It also features Variable Valve Event & Lift (VVEL) technology and four valves per cylinder that boast an intensely high 11.2:1 compression ratio. It means that the new 2016 Nissan Titan and Titan XD will be very fuel efficient too. However, Nissan has not yet revealed the exact fuel economy rating.
This Endurance V8 mated to a remarkable 7-speed automatic transmission will surely give a tough competition to its rivals by delivering an outstanding performance, while ensuring fuel efficiency.
The standard 2016 Nissan Titan will launch sometime in summers next year, while the Titan XD is set to go on sale in spring.
