Tesla has decided to increase its workforce by hiring more than 1,656 workers from worldwide. The interested candidates should check Tesla Careers site, where nearly all vacancies are full-time and some may not require immediate relocation.
The company is mainly looking for Palo Alto offices and Fremont factory. The bay area jobs are mostly for engineers and technicians. With this hiring splurge, Tesla is also looking to expand into cities like London, Sydney and Amsterdam. Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk took to the social media and revealed that he would like to interview the candidates himself. The candidates are not required to have any prior automotive experience. However, it might not be that easy to fill any of the announced vacancies since “many people want to work here” said Arnnon Geshuri (VP-Human Resources Tesla), who claimed to receive 1.5 million applications worldwide during the past 14 months.
The Tesla employee base (currently 14,000) has grown 15 times since it became an IPO back in 2010. Tesla began Model X SUV deliveries in September 2015 and plans to deliver 50,000 vehicles by the end of this year. Tesla is also expected to complete its huge lithium battery plant sometime in 2016. The company has also hired Jason Wheeler as the Chief Financial Officer who was formerly working with Google, and Jon McNeill as Head of Global Sales and Service, who worked as the CEO of Enservio. With these experienced professionals and some fresh talent, the company is expected to scale heights. Do not forget to visit Tesla Careers site and keep watching this space for more!
