Italian manufacturer of luxury sports Lamborghini cars has filed a petition to trademark Egoista. The name was formerly used for an astounding single-seater concept revealed by the company in 2013. While there is a hint that the model might go into production, we cannot be sure since the name has been filed under different categories which include merchandise, toys, conveyance and vehicles.
The Egoista concept came in as a gift from Lamborghini to itself on its 50th Anniversary. The advanced design has been inspired by Apache gunship attack helicopters featuring a carbon fibre and aluminium cockpit by its designer, Walter De Silva. The one-seater concept earns the automobile its name Egoista, which roughly translates to ‘selfish’. This mean machine is meant to be powered by V10 5.2 Litre engine churning out a massive 600 horsepower.
In a rather unique debut, the car was brought directly into the Lamborghini headquarters and museum located in Sant’Agata Bolognese rather than any auto show. The Lamborghini had earlier stated, “Egoista is pure emotion cannot come under anyone’s possession”. It will now be interesting to know if Lamborghini had actually re-considered starting full production of a concept nearly 3 years old. We are also waiting!
