In a rather interesting turn of events, the spy shots of Lincoln Continental were taken as it was towed by a service truck.
While we can breathe a sigh of relief that it happened to a prototype, the exact reason is still unknown. Though the event seems to be pretty unasked for, it does give the car enthusiasts a peek into what is in store.
The photographs give a good glimpse of the panoramic roof which can slide back and exhaust tips integrated into the rear bumper. The previous spy shots showed the console pretty similar to the concept unveiled in New York and toned down chrome-work. A presence of fire extinguisher has also been spotted, however whether it will make to the final production is still something you will have to wait for!
While some car enthusiasts are already labelling this incident as a bad premonition, we have nothing much to fret about since this is just a testing phase. With this, we are hoping that Lincoln will be able to take up the matter and fix any major bugs which might harm end-user experience.
Lincoln plans to launch the production version of Lincoln Continental at the Detroit Auto Show 2016. It received an overwhelming response to its concept launched at the New York Auto Show 2015. Initial reports suggest that the vehicle will be fitted with Lincoln-exclusive 3.0 litre Eco-Boost V6 engine. The company has no plans to launch a hybrid version as per Imran Jalal, Manager Marketing.
