The re-engineered 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be revealed to the public at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2016. The mid-size luxury sedan is expected to renew the sagging image of the E-Class as “undersized and overpriced”.
The launch date looms just around the corner and the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been spotted in test drives on the road. Spy shots reveal that the car lives up to expectations as far as the exterior is concerned and shows resemblance to the C and S Class models. Based on Mercedes MRA platform, the new 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be lighter and agile compared to the much criticised 2014 model. Improved aerodynamics will also make it more fuel economic.
The variants will include the E300, E450 AMG sport and the AMG E63 S. We can also expect a diesel and plug-in hybrid models. All models will feature nine-speed automatic transmission along with a number of driver-assist features such as lane positioning, assisted steering and collision avoidance.
