Almost 4 years after the initial concept was unveiled, the first Bentley Bentayga rolls of the assembly line at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe, UK. The limited First Edition of the Bentayga was premiered on November 16 this year at a private gathering in LA and comprises of 608 vehicles out of which one will be joining the UK Royal Fleet.
The Bentayga production is part of an £840 million investment, one of the biggest in Bentley’s history, and responsible for 1500 jobs in the UK. Part of the investment included a new bodystore, paintshop and assembly line especially designed for the Bentayga production. The first Bentley Bentayga production is handcrafted in 130 hours and wears an Anthracite exterior paint.
The Bentayga is being touted as the world’s fastest and most powerful SUV – powered by a 12 cylinder twin-turbocharged W12 engine churning out 600 hp for a 0-60 mph score of 4 seconds and a top speed of 187 mph.
Customer deliveries will commence in January 2016.
