The Honda Ridgeline Baja Race truck was introduced by the Japanese automaker at the 2015 SEMA show and it made headlines when it won the Baja 1000 race event scoring a Class 2 victory. Behind the wheels of this impressive truck were Jeff Proctor, Sage Marie and Jason LaFortune. They conquered the 821 mile distance from Mexico to Ensenada in 25 hours, 9 minutes, and 47 seconds.

Built by the Honda Performance Development firm, in collaboration with the Proctor Racing Group, the Honda Ridgeline Baja Race truck features a twin turbo-charged, 3.5-litre V6 powertrain that churns out 550 horsepower. The exterior styling is designed by the Honda R&D Americas’ Los Angeles Design Studio and is inspired from the upcoming second generation Honda Ridgeline. Of course, the standard variant will not feature the same exterior design but it will be equipped with the same 3.5L unit.

Proctor made a comment, despite the harsh road condition, the Ridgeline performed really well, which gives us a hint of what to expect from the new Ridgeline truck which will arrive in first half of 2016.
