The 12-day Dubai Motor Festival hosted the world’s first ever amphibious car performance at the Waldorf Astoria Dubai, Palm Jumeirah. Visitors were dazzled by the spectacle of two Jeep look-alike vehicles diving into the water for a race at speeds up to 80 km/h.

The vehicles were from the private collection of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad, the Crown Prince of Dubai and performed a series of high-speed maneuvers in one of the many unique displays offered by this year’s DMF. According to Michael Rall, one of the drivers, driving an amphibious car is the same as driving a boat or car. Within water, the wheels are raised up and tucked under the car to function as jet-skis.

Organisers of DMF were thrilled with the response to the amphibious car performance. The event prides itself on exceptional and one-of-a-kind displays for the thousands of visitors from all around the globe and was lauded as the most prominent and popular motoring event in the region.
