Created especially for the Middle Eastern desert terrain, the all-new Nissan Patrol Desert Edition was launched at the Dubai Motor Show last week. The bespoke model is a reaffirmation of the Japanese automaker’s commitment to developing vehicles tailored to regional consumer demands.
Contributions to the design of the Nissan Patrol Desert Edition were made by UAE Rally Champion Dr. Mohammed Ben Sulayem – also FIA Vice President and President of the Automobile and Touring Club UAE. The vehicle takes its main features from the Patrol LE trim including the 5.6 litre V8 engine coupled with a 7-speed automatic transmission. Special features to enhance the already impressive off-terrain performance of the Nissan Patrol are suspensions tuned for desert areas, special skid plates, on-board tyre inflator and ‘bead-lock’ wheels.
According to the Best Global Brands Study, Nissan has the distinction of being the fastest-rising automotive brand this year and ranked at 49 in this year’s study. The study also highlighted the company’s commitment to customisation and personalization of products. The Nissan Patrol Desert Edition is further proof of the company’s strategy to distinguish their brand through innovations.
