Dubai Police have added a Porsche 911 Spyder hybrid to their fleet, which was showcased during Dubai Motor Show 2015.
Only in a city like Dubai, you will find the police patrolling in the fastest and most expensive cars in the world. Among the rare collection of Lamborghini Aventador, Ferraris FF and Bugatti Veyron, the Porsche 911 Spyder would soon be patrolling the roads of the Emirate.
Equipped with a 4.6-litre V-8 engine, assisted by a hybrid electric drive system, this beast delivers a combined 887 horsepower and 940 pound-feet of torque.
Talking to Emirates 24/7, the Dubai Police Chief, Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina said that the Porsche 911 Spyder, along with other luxury supercars will mostly be used to patrol the tourist spots in the city.
Too bad we won’t get to see it chasing a criminal on the streets of Dubai! It is equipped with latest technologies and surveillance cameras which are linked directly to the main command centre of Dubai Police.
The Law Enforcement Agency is working towards environmental protection and promoting the use of hybrids. The Police already have 3 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrids.
