If you think only roadsters and coupes are capable of making top speed records, you need to think again! Unveiled at the SEMA Show, the new full size pickup truck, the Nissan Titan XD aims to set a new land speed record.

The Nissan Titan is nicknamed “Triple Nickel” because of the 555 lb-ft torque supplied by the Cummins 5.0-litre V8 turbo diesel engine. The exterior styling is distinctively amazing featuring a lowered suspension, huge front grille, flat styled wheel covers and a front air dam that is almost touching the ground. On the inside, it features a roll cage and a parachute at the back for extra safety.

The Nissan Titan XD or the Triple Nickel will be competing for the land speed record in two classes, the D/DT Class, whose current record is set at 191mph and the FIA Class A-III-9. However, Nissan seems confident about the fact that this new humongous looking pickup will easily set new record with its brawny powertrain.
