Ford Motor Company has revealed its latest Cobra Jet Mustang drag racer at the 2015 SEMA show in Las Vegas which boasts some incredible upgrades compared to its predecessor.
Ford claims that the Cobra Jet Mustang shares 75 percent of its parts with the current Mustang GT, including the 5.0L V8 engine. However, it uses a new solid-axle rear suspension and coil-over shocks and springs which are perfect for drag racing. Other performance enhancements include racing brakes and a superior automatic transmission. The interior updates comprise of Corbeau FIA seats, roll cage and five-point harness.
A new electric water pump, taken from the C-Max hybrid hatchback has been installed too in the Cobra Jet which allows the engine to automatically cool, even if it’s not running. The Cobra Jet Mustang will carry a price tag of $99,990 with the production limited to only 50 units.
