Google Waze has announced a new version for the iOS with a completely revamped design that will allow users to navigate, report and share more easily. They are calling it a “brand new Waze experience.”

Google acquired Waze in 2013 after a long drawn out battle with Facebook and Apple as the app offers many features that are not available in Google maps. A community-based traffic and navigation app, Waze relies on information exchange between users who are able to report blockades, traffic conditions, accidents, speed radars and other information to fellow drivers using the Waze app.

Customers had been facing trouble with the interface of the previous app. As one user commented on a Waze blog the interface was not so easy to use for reporting while driving: “… it is dangerous to dive into the menus while driving alone to look for report, select type of report (traffic, weather, road condition), severity of the condition, take a picture, and send the report”.

The newer version of Google Waze has been designed to make it easier for users to access key features through fewer taps. The left button pulls up the navigation menu, while the right button gives a quick access to contacts for taking actions like sending directions and location information.
