Aston Martin is already working on a number of electric cars, but recently, the CEO Andy Palmer told to Bloomberg that they are looking to build a high performance Aston Martin electric car that would be able to generate up to 1,000 horsepower.
“We’re talking about an electric Aston Martin with between 800 and 1,000 horsepower — imagine having all that torque on demand,” Palmer said in an interview in London.
According to the CEO, Aston Martin plans to create electric luxury cars to keep true to its legacy. The electric powertrains are perfect to rev up the performance and this is one of the reasons we are looking for electric cars apart from benefitting the environment, said Palmer.
The EVs currently in the making include Aston Martin Rapide and Aston Martin DBX crossover both of which might take couple of years to race on the roads.
Nothing else is known about the Aston Martin electric car in question. We’ll update you as soon as Aston Martin reveals more about it.
