The Ford has revealed the horsepower and torque ratings of the Focus RS and they stand at 350. The automaker first revealed a few months back that it would be north of 315 or somewhere around 340, but who would have guessed that the 2.3-litre turbo four-cylinder engine installed in the Focus RS could generate a mighty 350 horsepower.
What’s surprising is that the same powertrain in the 2016 Mustang EcoBoost produces only 310 horsepower. The powerful intake, new low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger and a performance exhaust system are what give this hatchback such vigorous power rating.
Moreover, a new start/stop technology has been installed which automatically restarts the engine when the clutch is pressed following a stall. The 0 to 60 mph mark is said to be achieved in less than 4.7 seconds, however the automaker has not yet confirmed it.
The production of the Focus RS will start later this year and it will arrive in the showrooms late 2016.
