Like every automaker, Cadillac also has some interesting plans for the year 2016, as the Cadillac CTS and ATS sedans get some major powertrain improvements. The previous 3.6L V6 engine which produced 321 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque has been replaced with another 3.6L V6 unit that delivers 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque.
Moreover, the fuel efficiency has been improved by 9 percent (approx), thanks to the new Active Fuel Management system and the start/stop technology which can also be found in the CTS-V and the Escalade.
The 2.0L and 2.5L engine choices are available too for people looking for higher efficiency. The six-speed automatic transmission has been replaced with a new Hydra-Matic 8L45 eight-speed automatic gearbox that weighs lesser and further improves the fuel economy.
With a six cylinder turbocharged engine combined with a cylinder-deactivation technology and engine start stop/stop mechanism, the Cadillac CTS and ATS will be a lot better than before.
