Earlier this month, the all-new 2016 Honda Civic was spotted parked somewhere in the US and now the Japanese automaker has officially raised the curtains off its most popular sedan. Honda already announced in July that the new sedan will feature Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but with the official debut we now know all other details about the tenth generation Honda Civic.
The completely redesigned exterior includes LED daytime running lights and unique C-shaped LED taillights. The rigidity of the body has been enhanced by 25 percent by employing ultra-high strength steel. Moreover, the 2016 Honda Civic sedan is larger in size, but weighs 31 kg lesser than the outgoing model.
On the inside, the cabin space has been greatly improved compared to the previous model. The standard safety features will comprise of Collision Mitigation Braking, Road Departure Mitigation and the new Adaptive Cruise Control. The triple sealed doors, powerful glass windshield and a tightly sealed engine greatly reduce the noise coming from outside.
The powertrain options for the US includes a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder unit generating 158 horsepower and a turbocharged 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine producing 173 horsepower. The Honda fans in the UAE will have to wait a little more to get their hands on the 2016 Civic as the automaker has not yet revealed any information as to when it will arrive here in the local markets.
