The venue that introduced the world to 911 series four years ago has displayed the company’s latest offering, 2017 Porsche 911. The new 911 will have turbocharged engine setting it apart from its predecessors in the series.
The distinction of having a turbocharged engine was reserved for high end vehicles only, but now the entry level Porsche Carrera and Carrera S have broken the norm. Having turbo engines will ensure less emission and increased power.
The 3.0-liter turbocharged flat-six engine sitting in 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera will generate 370 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque. The Carrera S will have slightly better stats with 420 hp and 368 lb-ft torque. The engines are capable of revs up to 7,500 rpm, which also marks 12 percent increase in efficiency.
Retrofitted with PDK transmissions, Sport Chrono Package and seven-speed dual-clutch the Carerra can go from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds flat, while the Carrera S can achieve similar velocity in just 3.7 seconds.
As evident from the name, the latest 2017 Porsche 911 will be commercially available next year with prices starting from $89,000.
