Just after the introduction of Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder, the Ferrari 488 Spider took the stage of 2015 Frankfurt Motor show to amaze the supercar enthusiasts. The folding hard-top is the same as found in 458 Spider, which is 25kg lighter enabling it to retract in just 14 secs. Ferrari has used 11 distinct aluminium alloys in combination with other metals, such as magnesium to improve chassis rigidity.

The Ferrari 488 Spider is a little bulky than the 488 GTB, but the rear spoiler and the adjustable rear diffuser are similar to the ones we see in the coupe version.

The Spider also borrowed the 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 from the GTB, which pumps out 660 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. The power generated is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to accelerate it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds and reach 200 kph in 8.7 seconds. The top speed is 327 kph.

The pricing details have not been announced yet, but expect it to be around $270,000. The Ferrari 488 Spider may hit the roads in the second quarter of the next year.
