Porsche Mission E Concept has some amazing statistics! 600 HP engine working in combination with 2 electric motors is capable of giving more than 482 km (300 miles) range. Normally, hybrid cars are not known for their speed as they are built for fuel efficiency, but Porsche Mission E Concept has broken that norm. It’s capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds which is on par with most petrol run engines.
The new hybrid car was unveiled yesterday at Volkswagen Group Night just before the Frankfurt Motor Show. The latest threat to Tesla’s domination will come equipped with a very fast charging ability which hasn’t been seen before. Reportedly, it can be charged to 80 percent in just 15 minutes and can go 402 km (250 miles) on that charging.
Under the hood of Porsche Mission E Concept sedan is an 800 volt drive system employing two synchronous motors. The design is the same as used in the 919 hybrid race car. The performance of the said car was ranked first at 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier this year.
The compact drive system minimizes the overall weight of the car using lighter smaller gauge wires. The lithium-ion batteries are kept low in the chassis which is made from steel, aluminium and carbon fibre. The wheels measure 21 inches in the front and an inch higher in the rear making this a low ride.
Any plan to build the car is still unknown.
