Chevrolet has officially released the performance figures of 2016 Chevy Camaro, which surely look very stunning. The coupe is now more powerful and faster thanks to its enhanced engine and reduced weight.

The standard version has shed 390 pounds while the SS variant shaved off 223 pounds compared to 2015 Camaro. If we go for Camaro vs Mustang, we find that the Camaro is now lighter than its competitor. Let’s find out what changes are there in the powertrain:

The highest trim Camaro SS automatic houses a 6.2-litre V8 engine that can sprint the car from 0 to 97 km/h in just 4 secs, while the same distance can be covered in 4.3 seconds in the manual version. With Goodyear Eagle F1 summer tyres, the car can stop from 60 km/h in 117 feet.

Talking about the smaller engines, the 335-hp 3.6-litre V6 can take the car from 0 to 97 km/h in 5.1 secs, while the 2.0-litre turbocharged V4 completes the same sprint in 5.4 secs. Comparing the Camaro with Mustang, the EcoBoost 2.3-litre can run the same distance in 5.1 seconds, making it more powerful than the Camaro.

As we have improved performance specs, the price of 2016 Chevy Camaro is also increased, starting from $26,695. It’s a $1,995 extra than its predecessor, but buyers should not fret, as they would get a more advanced coupe with extra facilities. Similarly, the 2016 Camaro SS wears a price tag of $37,295, which is $2,795 more than its predecessor. The 2016 Chevy Camaro is expected to hit the roads in the last quarter of this year.
