The Nissan Juke topped the sales chart in Japan when it was first released in the country. In the US also, the automaker sold around 40 thousand units between 2013 and 2014. By producing around 132,000 Jukes in the Sunderland plant last year, it gained an amazing reputation in the European markets and became Nissan’s second best-selling vehicle in the region.
Following this tremendous success of first generation Nissan Juke which was launched in 2010, the Japanese automaker has now confirmed to redesign the Mini-SUV for the second generation and introduce it in early 2016.
Nissan has invested around $152-million into the assembly plant at Sunderland, north-east England for Juke’s production which is going to be based on the Renault’s CMF-B platform.
Reports suggest that the next gen Nissan Juke will have more upgraded technological features such as 360 degree surround view parking camera and lane departure warning. To further make this SUV stand out, we can expect it to boast a revised interior styling.
We don’t have any information regarding the powertrain yet, but it will surely be better than the current base model carrying a 1.6L petrol engine that generates around 188 horsepower.
