The latest model of 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan compact crossover is geared up to make its first appearance at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show on September 15, but prior to its official launch, several spy shots and a video of the car’s prototype have been making the rounds. While the car is set for release in Europe by the end of 2015, people in the US will have to wait till 2017 to get their hands on this SUV’s 2018 model.
The snapshots and video reveal a heavily disguised SUV with features bearing resemblance to the 2013’s CrossBlue concept. Moreover, the new version is seemingly more bulky, with a more muscular designing in comparison to the last Tiguan.
The car’s interior has been derived from the Cross Coupe GTE concept featuring a huge touchscreen display and a digital display in the instrument cluster.
As per reports, it is speculated that VW will soon be introducing gesture control technology in Golf Compact.
The 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan boasts VW’s MQB platform, though slightly bigger than the preceding model and is a five-seat vehicle. Volkswagen also plans on launching a seven-seater divided in three rows, the production of which is expected to start by 2017 in its Mexico plant.
