The sales of Honda CR-Z in the US market were declined by 37% in the first two months of this year. However, the Japanese automaker is not giving up on this hybrid hatchback and has decided to give a refreshed look to the 2016 Honda CR-Z hoping that the sales would somehow increase.

The front profile has been enhanced by adding an element in the lower bumper that stretches from one fog light to another passing through the front grille. The same thing can be seen at the back too. The brake discs are 15 inch bigger and the headlamps have been upgraded too.

On the inside, there is a new infotainment system with active noise cancellation feature. The traditional lever style parking brake has been replaced with an electric one, which made it possible to install an armrest too for the front seats. The powertrain remains same, 1.5-litre four-cylinder and IMA hybrid system generate 130 horsepower. However, an engine sound amplifier has been added, which will allow the 2016 Honda CR-Z to produce a more aggressive and sporty noise.

There are rumours that Honda might replace the hybrid powertrain with a gasoline engine in the future models, but the chief engineer for the CR-Z, TerukazuTorikai, has denied these speculations.
